Jesus Always Treats Us Like Fam

If you’re feeling like you need a place to belong, let’s talk about family. And who better to look to for guidance than Jesus? He had some fascinating things to say and show us about how to treat our family. Spoiler alert: it’s all about love, respect, and being there for each other.

To start, Jesus truly valued family. Remember the time when His mother, Mary, and His brothers came searching for Him while He was teaching? Instead of brushing them off, He used it as a teachable moment. He said, “Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother” (Matthew 12:50). Basically, Jesus was saying that family isn’t just about blood relations—it’s about shared faith and commitment to God’s will. So, in a way, we all have a family in Him. How cool is that?

Another great example is when Jesus was on the cross. Even in His last moments, He was thinking about His mother. He told His disciple John to take care of her, saying, “Here is your mother” (John 19:27). This shows us that taking care of our family is a top priority, even when we’re going through tough times.

So, what does this mean for us today? Well, Jesus wants us to treat our family with the same love and care that He showed. This means being there for each other, supporting one another, and showing kindness and respect. It’s not always easy, especially when life gets busy, but it’s so worth it.

And here’s the best part: we’re all part of Jesus’ family. Whether you’re close with your biological family or not, you have a spiritual family that loves and supports you. This community is there to lift you up, pray for you, and walk with you through life’s ups and downs.

So, let’s follow Jesus’ example and treat our family—both biological and spiritual—with love, respect, and care. After all, we’re all in this together, and that’s what family is all about.
