MINISTRY

The Creation of Simply Jesus

Simply Jesus has origins from a not-so-simple narrative. The idea for the Simply Jesus ministry came to Pastor V. Sterling Allen during an impending snowstorm. He met a young man who needed a ride to the hospital to visit his brother. Sadly, the young man had been turned away by someone who judged him for his non-traditional clothing and even told him that Jesus didn’t love him. Pastor Allen, seeing the young man’s unusual outfit for the weather and his look of despair, offered him a ride in his big truck. The young man felt truly honored to be a passenger in such an impressive vehicle.

As they drove, the young man opened up about his experience of rejection and shared his love for Jesus, even though he didn’t fit societal norms. This heartfelt conversation deeply touched Pastor Allen and inspired him to start Simply Jesus, a ministry focused on sharing the gospel in its simplest form and helping people build a closer relationship with Jesus. He envisioned a ministry without walls, extending grace to all cultures and people facing adversity.

A Ministry Without Walls

Simply Jesus is both an idea and an organized group. The concept is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ with simplicity, free from traditional church norms. This organized body of believers seeks to witness, teach, and engage communities that do not gravitate towards conventional ministry settings. These communities desire to understand more about the Messiah and develop a relationship with the Creator.

Pastor Allen’s vision for Simply Jesus is to provide organic food for the soul, creating a faith base with boundaries but without walls. This ministry aims to reach out to those who feel marginalized or misunderstood, offering them a place where they can experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ in its purest form. Through Simply Jesus, Pastor Allen continues his mission to help non-believers become Kingdom Citizens, spreading the gospel with compassion and inclusivity.
